Used the winter wishes cut from jolly holidays cricut light cart. The snowflake on the patterned block has plain old glitter and glue.  Used a white stamp for a blizzardy look :)Thanks for looking!

Christmas card making

I am currently in Christmas card making mode.  I am hoping to make at least 5 more before December.  My plan is to not be in the craft room in December so i can spend that time with my family.  I will post these as they are made as long as nothing else comes up!! Hope you have an excellent Thanksgiving dinner.

One sheet wonder

So has anyone tried a one sheet wonder or even know what it is? Well anyways you take a sheet of cardstock and you cut it many ways to use on different cards.  You can read more here.  (may just help with my christmas cards since i wanna make each unique cause i am crazy..) and i am on a spending freeze this month and next!! Hobby Lobby sale

Got these cute stamp sets at Hobby Lobby for 3.11 after 40% off store sale!  Almost didn't find them but as i was leaving i spotted an aisle with the Christmas "stuff".  I almost gave up cause i couldn't find many stamps in the regular scrapping aisle.  So happy i found the Christmas projects aisle.  :)   It's Christmas Crafts brand.  The one on the left is Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Do not open til christmas.  The one on the right has a few i can use year round!Like Handmade with Love and Uniquely Handmade/limited edition.  Just thought i would share.

I haven't posted in a while.  My family took turns being sick this month.  After i took care of everyone else i also got the bug!  Guess that's how it works.  Family comes first before blogging anyway.  But i  still wanna jump in here on the first and show you some layouts.  I know we all have a different style.  So don't be too hard on me!!! I made another piece of Baker's twine!!

This one was done the same way...you wrap your crochet thread sz 10 around a ruler 11x make sure you tape the ruler with scotch tape.  Only this time i used a different kind of marker made for stamping.  I really like the results...don't forget to tape the beginning and ending of your thread to the ruler so it doesn't move around!! Hope you like it!!

Hi Guys!! I am attempting my own Baker's twine!!

The other day i bought 350 yards of size 10 crochet thread in an attempt to make my own!! Well it costs me $1.99 for the thread and i already had sharpies.  Take an old ruler but if you are concerned about it you can use painter's, masking or scotch tape to cover it.  I just cut a piece of thread and i wound it around the ruler after i taped it with Scotch tape.  Now i am not saying it is perfect but we don't have to be perfect cause we are scrappers, right? Anyway, next i just drew lines on the thread.  I wrapped mine around 10x cause it's just a trial run and i want to do a lot of colors if it works!! I did mine in red hoping that i can use it on Christmas cards!!  Anyway here is a picture of mine that is still drying!! You can do thicker lines or thinner lines.  You can do yours up and down (it's probably easier) Hope you like it!! Don't worry i will be back later to show it unwound!!

School's back in session!!!

  At least it is in the small country town i reside in Ohio!! So i have been taking my time and not working to hard on the housecleaning and figured i would take a week to breathe.  Luckily both my children are teens, so they are in school full time!! I haven't done a dang thing this week so far besides catching my breath(obviously had to still do dishes and laundry)!! LOL.  I hope everyone else is having a nice time and not working too hard!! We will save the hard work for September...lol!!  I wanted to give a holler to my newest followers and thanks for following my blog!! I plan to start some layouts in September which i will post as i do them, so stay tuned and stay creative!!

Hi Everyone!!

Hope everyone had a great day!! I am glad i got to venture out for a walk since a little rain made this possible.  I don't take the heat very well being i am a stay at home mom!! LOL!! Well i was up late and tried a christmas tag off of Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite cart.  I figured i could upload it and share!! It's simple but that is a good thing cause now i can make a bunch.

I added gemstones on the berries from The Paper Studio.. The tag was only 2 inches by 3.5 inches.  The words were only .25 inches.  I cut this on the expression 2 which cuts like a dream with small letters!! I used to have trouble cutting these!! I use the paper studio card stock pack(50pc for 4.99)..i keep every color of this in my room..i used beige and red.  The leaves were cut with a black shadow.. Thanks for looking!!

My husband is spoiling me!!

I must be doing something right, lol!! First i got a camera and now he says i need this awesome laptop to go with it http://www.hsn.com/todays-special_xh.aspx?ocm=todspc&cm_re=billboard1*ts*slide1 .  Ok hard for us to pass up deals with these flexible payments, right?? Besides it comes with wi-di (yes i spelled it right).  It's this awesome thing that allows your laptop to connect to your television via an adapter..so anything on your laptop can be on your television...this is great if you don't have 20/20 vision..once i get the adapter to it i will give this a try.  But for now...no more new purchases...after this!!

Hi everyone!!

I started Insanity workout yesterday and yes you probably are insane if you are doing it!! I am so sore...i had to lift my legs with my hands to get into bed...lol.  Now mind you i started walking on the treadmill two weeks before this!! I almost physically got sick and had to lay down in the bathroom and finish later.  But i followed thru and finished.  This is a hard workout that you do every day for 60 days and if you finish you get a t shirt that says insanity on the front...and i earned it on the back..Wish me luck!!

Been a little busy!!

Tests from the hospital came back normal.  We are having a heat emergency here in Ohio.. :( no outside for me or the kiddos!! I have had my nephew over, he is staying for a month!! Luckily he is being very well behaved so i haven't had to do too much.  It helps that he is 13 yrs old :) So wanted to do some scrapbooking but guilty when i hide for too many hours...grrrr.  My children are both teens and got out of school on the 27th of May.  They like to be left alone for the most part and i still feel guilty...idk why lol!! Anyway my baby is turning 18 on Thursday.  I don't know why i am having sad feelings? Anyone else do this where you feel anxious when you shouldn't? LOL oh well it will be fine.  She still has another year of school.  Guess i am just worried that she has to make her own smart decisions and consequences are a wee bit bigger than before if she messes up...well enough of my blabbing and hope you all have a great day!!

Happy Tuesday!!

Our small part of Ohio is very chilly today!!  Our furnace went on the blitz to top it off.  So glad we are not in the Winter season anymore!  Been cleaning house today so haven't got to play any!! Hope everyone else has got some crafting time in.  My daughter is at Cheer Clinics all week, tryouts are on Friday!! Saturday morning we get the news.  My DD is going to be a Senior next year.  Not really worried about her making it, i just don't like to be the one to see "the list":O  Wish us luck!!

I decided to uploaded a card i scraplifted from Robyn of My Pink Stamper.  I just love what she does with Cricut carts!! Hope you like it!!  I changed the colors and i have had stars and stripes on my mind!! LOL!!

So, i got good news today

My new Expression 2 is due on Wed.  I have to say PC is fast if you talk to the right person.  I just shipped my other one back a week ago Wed.  Wow excellent!!  Lucas is the best to deal with.  She emailed me today with the tracking number.  We talked to her on the phone last Tuesday and she said just email her when we ship our non working Cricut and she would submit a claim.  Looks like she did her job.  Thanks Lucas!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

So i finally shipped back my E2 on Wednesday.  I am so hoping they get it and ship me another soon!! I am really getting sad watching everyone else have fun with theirs...wah..LOL.  No i am okay actually.  The weather has been great in Ohio.  And the kiddos went to Kings Island Amusement Park.  One of our luxuries in Ohio.  Sadly i didn't make a card for Mother's Day.  But i did call my mom.  I hope everyone else had a great Mother's Day and didn't have to do a whole lot.  I don't think moms should have to do anything on Mother's Day and still get paid.  Ha wouldn't that be nice!! Well TTFN!! Vickie

I am gonna miss the Expression 2

Ok not really since i didn't have time to get attached, LOL.  So anyway my dear husband called and talked to PC and they couldn't figure it out over the phone.  So i was asked to send it back!! YIKES!! I am pretty sad.  They said it could take 3 days to get a return label?? Hmmm why PC? I feel so unimportant...lol.  Well anyway i have been checking the email all day.  I am hoping it don't take three weeks after i return mine to get a new one.  But guess what? For my troubles i get two new mats!! I guess that will work!! LOL..I almost changed my mind on this purchase(buyer's remorse) But i guess i can kind of find the money in other ways...lol.  I mean with gas prices i could stay home more...lol i don't like to drive anyway.  Well thanks for listening to me vent!!

I got an EXPRESSION 2!!

Ok so i got an Expression 2..First thing i did was make 3 simple cuts to make sure it worked of course.  Well it has the cutest carts ever so it was very worth it!! Then i decide i am gonna update it.  Makes since right? I thought so...but i update it while i am cleaning my room.  So i unplug it from the computer and restart it...and boohoo it so did NOT work(yes the power button is lit up but not a thing on the screen)...I am so bummed i thought i would be spending the weekend on it!! But no now i get to be on the phone on Monday with PC.  Please send me good vibes that this thing starts working and i don't have to send it back!! I will keep you guys updated on what happens to it!! Either way stay tuned and i will have a Mother's Day card up soon.
